I was quite pleased to discover that it is one of the most common coin-size batteries: 2032. The battery had a bright yellow sticker on the back warning not to replace it but, having gone this far, I proceeded to scrape it off so I could find out what kind of battery it is. Assuming I would break some pience of plastic, I forged ahead but was pleasently surprised that it opened fully intact with the battery right there. Tossing caution to the wind, I pried it open with a small flathead screwdriver. The only place I could find to open is the inch-long rectangle on the top of the back. SInce my warranty is long expired and Logitech has completely failed to acknowledge the charging issue, I decided to try replacing the battery. I've been using using a keyboard I don't really like and I decided that I liked the feel of this keyboard too much so I was going to try to make it work. I have had this keyboard for several years and, after experiencing the same charging issues as everyone else here, I had pretty much given up on it. Waiting a few months will not work for me, and as this is the second time I've had issues with this particular model of keyboard, I would like to exhange it for another model with low profile keys. (Last night I watched it go from 48% to 51% in 4 hours of gaming, the first time I've seen it go "up" in a week.Īt the current rate of battery life, I may have a month left, possibly longer since I'm moving at the end of the month and will be without a computer for a few days. Rarely, after several hours of usage I will see the charge percentage increase instead of decrease. That same usage that kept me at a 100% charge for 2+ months, is now draining daily. Once they keyboard stopped charging, I dropped down. I'm a gamer, so I'm regularly in front of my keyboard for an hour or two a night, longer if I don't have homework from one of my classes. Before this, I was staying consistantly at a 100% charge. In September it STOPPED charging unless I was typing consistantly. I've been using the keyboard consistantly since I got the replacement in June.
